Guest guest
I saw my surgeon yesterday for a follow-up. I had never asked specifically what my bypass length was...knowing I was having some kind of distal. He said that I didn't have a distal, what I had was: Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass with 150cm Alimentary Limb http://www.drchampion.com/rny.htm Geez...how could I not know this???? I went into that surgery thinking, I was having a " simple " bypass. They showed me the " pictures " of what I was going to have in the " pre-surgery " days - some how I did not know that they had " detached " my stomach. AGAIN I say....How could I not know this??? I spoke with my mother, she atteneded many of the pre-op appointments with me, she also said that the detached stomach was never mentioned. The other news is that I have a fistula (I hope I spelled that correctly). Anyway, this fistula, has connected my belly wound to my small intestine. So the surgeon is thinking that I will be getting the hernia fixed, the fistula repaired, and the tummy tuck all at the same time in about a year...unless it gets into an emergency situation with the hernia. Welll I am speechless in North Carolina kathy ********************* Remember, progress is more about direction then speed.
