Guest guest
Tonight I went to a nutrionist to discuss a post surgery diet. She calculated how many calories and grams of protein I would need per day - such that I should only lose 1-2lbs per week (I could use to drop a few...but not that much). She didn't really say anything I hadn't read/heard before. I actually found the best nutrion advice from 8 weeks wired. She did stress to keep the menu varied so as not to get bored. I also started reading that heal faster book - surprisingly it is pretty good. I'm not one to promote things...but this seems pretty useful. I found the program when I was in the blood center at NYU (that's where I'm having the surgery). For patients and family members of patients - the program is free because of some endowment. But everyone else could find it at www.healfaster.com It sounded a little hookey - but I'll try anything to try to ease my anxiety and get some sleep. I hope you're all doing well...it's really nice to have people to share this experience with. Thanks! -becky
