Guest guest
I did a search in the messages on Threelac and found that it has stated previously it is not SCD legal, sorry. > > My son did the intro diet for two days and we have since added homemade apple sause > and ripe banana, without any adverse effects, we stopped taking an anti fungal called > Threelac because we couldn't verify whether legal or not, we also stopped a liquid form of > Phenylbutyrate that has an apple flavoring we can't identify, does anyone know if Threelac is > okay? > > Thanks, > Jon and >
Guest guest
Pam, When asking for an opinion on a product, it's usually helpful to provide a link to the product and its ingredients which you are asking about. Yes, it can be Googled, but there are a lot of web sites out there, and all of our moderators are volunteers. http://www.43lac.com/ ThreeLac Ingredients: Lactobacillus Coagulans (200 million CFU), Bacillus Subtilis (25 million CFU) Enterococcus Faecalis (25 million CFU), Lemon Juice Powder, Refi ned Yeast Powder, Fiber. This contains all SCD-illegal bacteria, and, in addition, it contains yeast powder, which is not legal. THey do not say what the " fiber " is, which means it could be anything. I strongly recommend against taking anything with so many iollegals. It will undermine your SCD progress severely. Legal probiotics are are s. thermophilus, l. bulgaricus, and l. acidophilus or l. casei in the yogurt starters. It is also legal to take either l. acidophilus or s. boulardii as a supplement. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
I haven't tried Threelac, but looking at the ingredients, it sure is full of SCD illegals, as well as being very expensive. If it were me, I'd try other treatments for the candida. So sorry your nausea has persisted so long.
Guest guest
thanks, Kim and Marilyn, for your responses about threelac. I do have another question, though. If a person has mainly a candida issue, would he/she necessarily have to worry about " illegal " ingredients, given that the yeast is a fungus and needs to be targeted in a different way than other types of rogue bacteria? In other words, bacteria and fungus are two different things; would they not have to be treated differently with different probiotics? Another example would be that people following the SCD diet cannot have sugar, but they can eat honey. People with candida are not supposed to eat either because it feeds the yeast. Believe me, I am not going to embark on taking something which might cause harm to my system, but I don't think I have heard this addressed here. Thanks again for your helpful responses.
