Guest guest
So after lower advancement last Monday I had my splint out today and now just have a couple of elastic bands running between my upper and lower jaw. The removal itself was quick and completely painless. The initial sensation and sense of freedom is wonderful and I'd say that at least 50% of the " swelling " around my face was down to the splint and is now gone. Talking, breathing, smoking and licking my lips are all now possible and best of all I managed to get some scrambled eggs down. Chewing is a definite no-no for now and for dessert I got the most intense, throbbing headache - a normal side effect after eating solids for the first time in 7 days. My face is still lop-sided a bit and my lower lip and chin are still numb but this is the best I've felt and looked since the op. Tonight I'll making risotto al fungi and give that a go. Hope everyone's doing good Best wishes to all Constantine
