Guest guest
patcof121 Congratulations on your new “smoke-free” life! What a great gift you’ve given yourself. My mom died of emphysema, both her parents as well. They all started smoking young, when it was “cool” and no data on just how addictive the stuff was. My dad died of heart disease/strokes at an earlier age, as well due to his smoking. Fortunately, I didn’t seem to get the gene for smoking (just the chocolate one!) All 3 of my kids smoke tho, go figure! My daughter (22) stopped the day she found out she was pregnant (ok, you stop for the baby, why don’t you stop for yourself?) My youngest son (21) has schizophrenia (90% of men with schizophrenia smoke) so I don’t even bother asking him to give that up. The oldest one (23) does what he wants and I wouldn’t DARE suggest he stop. Looking at the age of my kids you can tell I got the procreation gene, too! I’m sure you know all the bad side effects of smoking, interfering with healing due to decrease blood flow, etc. so I won’t bore you with details. However, do reach around and pat yourself on the back for quitting NOW rather than later. Hugs, Connie
