Guest guest
Well, had her last CST appointment on Monday. We took measurements at the beginning. I was disappointed that the previous numbers that showed improvement were not confirmed. This time, her head width and legnth were identical to the numbers from August. However, her plagio numbers were similar to last time (0 difference). This was true even though she had grown 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) since August. The good news is that her measurements show no increase in width in over a year. The bad news is that even though her head looks longer to me, it's not showing up with these hand measurements. Her length hasn't increased since August. Or course, it's confusing to me how her head could have grown over a cm and not gotten longer or wider (measurement error?) My PT does take the hand measurements in inches instead of mm or cm and I usually just convert them. So, one eighth of an inch is about 3 mm so any small changes are less likely to show up they way that she measures it. So, that put 's ratio at 91.3 percent with these hand measurements. Our PT is really thinking that there is no more reason to continue because of her age and because she looks pretty good. She did give the option of another appointment in a couple of months, but I'm not sure that it's worth it. We've only gone monthly this time around and I'm not sure that we've gotten full benefit because of it. 's latest chiro scan was completely clear so we've gotten what we can from that. She does continue to go for maintenance appointments. I'm completely torn about what to do. I can consult with an osteopath or just let it go. It's so hard to describe what 's head looks like. I've taken some recent pictures and I'll think I'll try and post them to get people's feedback. I'd like to know what others would do if their child's head looks the way that 's does. It honestly looks quite good considering where we started, but I was really hoping to get her below 90 percent. I'm not even looking for a lower 80's number since that would not be realistic given her age. I've been considering taking her back for another starscan and maybe that is the route to go, but my ortho left us saying that 's head wouldn't change anymore because of her age. So, it'll be hard for me to call her and ask for a scan. She'll tell me that there's no need and I'll be embarrased if she's right that there's no change.
