Guest guest
Diane, Fran et al., I met Dr. West on Monday. Everything went fine, and he and my orthodontist pronounced me ready for the surgery (lower adv.) this summer. I had guessed that might be the case, as my teeth moved really fast. I got the braces on in October, and they had projected I'd be ready after a year, but I would've had to wait until winter break from school. Now we're shooting for July, but I have a few obstacles to overcome first. The biggest is coming up with the money ahead of time. I'm hoping my bank will give me a loan. I'm also concerned because our new insurance plan year starts July 1 AND we're switching providers. I got preauth from BCBS a while back, but now that we're switching I don't know what will happen. I've been asking and asking -- my HR person, the insurance folks -- and everybody says " It will PROBABLY be covered, " but nobody can say for sure. I don't know what to do. And since I'll be doing the insurance billing myself, I'm pretty nervous. Advice welcome! Also, my friend who had offered to come with me in the winter can't get away from her business in summer, so I've asked another friend, who wants to, but has to make sure her business is covered, too. So, that's about it. I'm pretty excited, but a little in shock, too. This is feeling very real all of a sudden! Luna
