Guest guest
Hi all, Yesterday was the 4-year anniversary of my RNY at St. Carmel Hospital with Dr. Rosemarie . Even though I didn't feel much like a celebration (still having unresolved pain after gall bladder removal) I am so grateful to be having this kind of problem instead of the misery I was dealing with pre-wls. Pre-wls, I crawled to the bathroom evey morning because my feet, knees and ankles hurt to much to stand. I managed somehow to attend my children's sports events, but I was forever mortified by the small irritations of having to replace my folding chair every month because I always broke them, and having exactly one pair of shorts that I was willing to wear outside the house, and being unable to join in the annual mothers-vs-daughters soccer game at the end of the season. Like all of you I could write pages and pages of this stuff. Now, it's all gone. I've had the same Sports Mom chair for three years: a miracle! I have lots of pairs of shorts (although my faves are the 3 pairs of knee-length Tommy Hilfigers that my son wore in the third grade! I always buy boys' shorts now.) And I look forward to the annual soccer playoff between the moms and daughters. With all that I am going though with this undiagnosed pain, it is easy to forget how far I've come. I'm glad for this anniversary to take a moment and remember. hugs, Ann
