So, I had my colonoscopy today. It went off very easily, no passing

out from the IV or anything. They actually put it in my hand, which

was great!! I wish all IVs were in the hand! Anyways, we got the

pictures and the doctor talked to my parents, but we're waiting for

the biopsy and blood results (they took blood while I was out and

apparently had a REALLY REALLY hard time getting a vein...).

Anyways, the report said I was slightly inflamed everywhere, but

mostly on my right side (ascending colon) where there was blood and

pus. I definitely still have UC and not Crohn's though; my upper

endoscopy was all clear =) My doctor is waiting on the other results

to make any decisions, but she said she would do more research on LDN.

Cheers!

Hi Alyssa,

I have been reading your e-mails the last few days since I

joined. You are a very bright young girl. A positive attitude is good when

dealing with this disorder.

I was 17 when I was diagnosed with UC. That was a few years ago.

I am 45 now. In 94 and 95, I had two stage surgery to remove my colon. I no

longer have UC due to my surgery. But, if I had your amount of knowledge at the

time, I would most likely still have my colon. I don’t look back with

regret though. I feel it has given me a lot of experience and I now know what

to watch for in my son who has now been diagnosed with Celiac.

I wish you best of improvement in your health. Good luck.
