Guest guest
Connie, I will upload my photos later today or tonight! Your daughter is right, and it sounds like she has great self-esteem. Good job!!! Interesting to know that you also have a " muscly chin, " and your doctor's opinion on removing bone or tissue. I also have thinnish lips, although they seem quite a bit fuller with braces and my teeth becoming straight. (My top two were tilted back; when they came forward, they gave my upper lip more support.) I'm hoping that the fullness doesn't go away when the braces do! Beauty and appearance are a real struggle for me -- I have a hard time knowing how other people see me. I also have weight " issues, " so that complicates matters. Women sometimes tell me I'm " stunning " or " beautiful, " but I seem to be invisible (or worse) to men. My self-esteem fluctuates and sometimes I feel pretty, sometimes I feel really ugly. It also varies a lot depending on what angle I see myself from in pictures or mirrors -- and I think that has something to do with the chin and profile. Anyway, long story short, I'm really hoping this surgery will help me feel better about my looks. And while I realize self-esteem has to come from within, the reality is that in this culture, the external has a lot to do with it, too.
