Guest guest
Hey .. My name is Alana. I'm from Pa.. I'm 5'10 and 403. (413 was my highest weight). When I first got into the whole process before the surgery I was scared to death. But I just kept looking at the whole package.. I was more terrified of dying from being over- weight. I'm still a little nervous, not as bad as in the beginning though.. Surgery is coming up (Sept 21), can't believe only about 29 more days.. It's crazy, now its the day to day, *damn why can't it be tomorrow* feeling. What kind of insurance do you have? I was one of the lucky ones, all together between the first time I've talked to my surgeon to the date of the surgery, only been about 3-4 months and my insurance covered it without a problem (KNOCK ON WOOD, cause you never know..) Also, they cover a tummy tuck down the line after you lose 80-100 pounds.. Anyway, I'm babbling.. Just want to wish you a quick and steady start on your way to a new life.. -Alana- > Hi everyone. I am new here. I went Friday for a consultation with a surgeon. I went to the Barix Clinic in Groveport Oh. I have been overweight for most of my life. I have lost weight but always gained it back. I am 5'7 " and at one point was 475lbs. Right now I am 411. I swore to myself that I would never get above 400 lbs when I lost weight doing the Atkins diet. However, I have. This was the last straw. My PCP and my GYN have been recommending I have the surgery for 2 years. I have researched it for awhile but now I am ready to admit that this is the only way I can lose weight. I am scared to have the surgery but am even more scared of dieing because I'm too fat. I have read some of your emails and have gotten alot of useful information from them. I have to go through some more tests and then hope the insurance company does not give me any problems. They said it was a covered benefit. But I know it can't be that easy. I am glad I found this group with people who > understand what I am going through. It will mean alot as I start this new me. Thanks again. .
