Hi , I agree with you about what BCBS allows for non-

participating OS. For my surgical molds, surgical splint, ceph,

etc. which were about $2200, BCBS allowed $888. Because I am going

with a non-participating OS, they seem to allow less and then only

pay 75% of the allowable amount. I asked the OS office to appeal

that amount. I can't believe that is the going rate for the area. My

total surgery bill is about $25000. I will have both two oral

surgeons-primary and assistant, so that adds some to surgery costs.

Of course the $25K doesn't include the hospital. But that I don't

worry about as much as the hospital is a preferred provider.

But if I'm having someone rearrange my face :), I want the best.

Maybe the rearrangment will take a few years off!!
