Guest guest
http://www.nvic.org/state-site/state-exemptions.htm Vaccines are the law...unless you have an exemption and they are usually pretty easy to get! Visit the above web site and click on your state for more info. Chris _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of graceopenshaw Sent: Wednesday, December 26, 2007 1:07 PM Subject: [ ] Please help me! hi group, I have a friend in florida who was asking for help. I explained to her my situation and she states that I can't refuse any of them. I don't know where to go to see my rights as a parent to protect my child. I told her if it is not life threatening than I will refuse the shot. She states in our state that it is law for the Chicken Pox vaccine to be given. That will not kill my son and I refuse to let him get it. At this point I am refusing to take him for his check ups because they state that they will give him his shots. I don't know what to do or where to go. Please help me. " Please help me with information I could pass to her as she is desperate and all new to this.... Guest guest
The only law in all of the USA on vaccines is basically if you want your child to go to public school. BUT you can have a religious exemption and the school cannot ask what religion you are. I would have her change doctors asap!! My daughter lives in Fort Meyers and her ped. doesnt make her vaccinate her daughter. They would be breaking the law if they vaccinated a child against the parents wishes!!! Guest guest
http://www.thinktwice.com were a great help to me when I was being harassed to get my daughter the MMR. (also where I purchase Neil 's " Vaccines:Are They Really Safe and Effective " also see http;//www.nvic.org And it is most definitely NOT the law that she be forced to vaccinate. All states have exemptions, she just needs to find out what her state's are. And, she needs to find a new doctor who won't strong arm her into harming her child by lying to her! Thanks for being there for your friend. This is one way all moms should help each other. P. graceopenshaw wrote: > > hi group, > I have a friend in florida who was asking for help. Guest guest
She should also file a licensing board complaint against the doctor for threatening to give the shots without parental consent. Stay focussed on that and it might do some good. Andy > http://www.thinktwice.com were a great help to me when I was being > harassed to get my daughter the MMR. Guest guest
I live in Miami Florida, I told my doctor that my son isn't getting any more vaccines because they triggered autism in him & he said ok & gave me the blue form for his Pre-K with the exemption signed. Guest guest
Hi, everybody! I became a member of this ! group because of my son Jerry. He is 4 and half months old. We found out his plagio issue when he was 1 and half month old. We ask his ped's opinion when we took him to do the 2 months check up. His ped did not think it is a big issue and only ask us to give Jerry much more tummy time. But his situation became worse and worse even with more tummy time and repositioning. At his 4 months check up, his ped finally suggest us to see the physical therapist. Ped think Jerry does not need helmet at all. But after we took him to see the physical therapist, I feel really sad. The physical therapist thought Jerry need to wear the helmet as soon as possible. Because it's easily to tell that Jerry's plagio and also he is a little bit torticollis because he really like to turn his head in one direction. It already affected his face. You can see some difference between his eyes which one side is bigger than the other and forehead which one side is higher than the other. Also his ears are not in the same line if you see it from the sky. I am asking the Dr's prescription now and the nearest company for us is Hanger. Can someone tell me is the hanger have the same effects as the DOC band do? What I can do at this point? I live in San and I am having the blue cross blue shield insurance. I am asking some advice of the mama who have similar condition like I did. Any suggestions and advice will be appreciated. Thank you! Guest guest
I'm sure you will get excellent responses from the board. My understanding from meeting with a person from Hanger in Virginia is that it has the same effect. Could you ask Hanger for references or whether you can talk to other parents who have used their services? Or perhaps someone from this board can tell you. I'm sure your pediatrician means well, but I do think you are wise and right to be concerned about your son's placiocephaly. Ramona > > Hi, everybody! Guest guest
HI, our situation is pretty similar actually. my son was diagnosed with plagio and tort at 4 1/2 mos, I did repositioning and then got him a helmet at 6mos. He has a Hanger helmet, that was our only option locally, and we have blue cross blue shield which covered it at 80% ( I know they have different plans though) He is 8 mos now and will be done very soon, he has gotten very good correction. You will need to make sure your orthotist has experience with the helmets, that is the main thing. good luck! le 8mos From: emilymiao <guomiao1979@...>Subject: please help me!Plagiocephaly Date: Thursday, January 28, 2010, 1:24 PM Hi, everybody! Guest guest
I might add that the physical therapist may also be a good resource. Most of the ones that deal with babies with plagio have seen several heads in helmets. She could tell you whether her babies have had good improvement with this Hanger location. If she has much experience, she might know. Also, you might want to be more specific. Which city is this Hanger location? I believe that there are a couple of Doc band and STARband locations in VA as well. And, depending upon where you live, there is a STARBand location in Columbia, MD. This is where we went and I can recommend them as an option for you. However, if the closest place is Hanger and you get good information about their work, then you might as well go with them.
