Guest guest
: I just finished a series of 23 iron infusions over the past three months and I'm finally NORMAL!!!! (in that department at least). My counts went from below 9 to a high of 13.5. As of my last infusion I was down to 12.7. They were not painful at all. The first one took two hours because they wanted to make sure I didn't have a reaction. All subsequent infusions took a few minutes. I was in and out of the hematologist's office within 10-15 minutes. I can't belive how much better I feel. Did a world of good for me. Now I have to go back in one month and take oral iron and he will check to see where I'm at. If I'm still within the normal range I will go back in three months. Doc said he thinks I'll require monthly infusions pretty much on a permanent basis. Did not constipate me. He used a very small needle with a catheter attached and pushed the iron through there. Had it done in the same arm, same place for all 23 injections with no problems. Feel like a million bucks compared to what I felt like when I went in there. Good luck to you.
