Guest guest
Hi, I'm usually only eating about 1 cup of yogurt and maybe 1/2 cup of dripped yogurt a day . I used to eat non legal yogurt before the SCD, but not every day. Can you tell me what exactly is dying off? Is it the bad gut bacteria? I've already cut back on the eggs, but will try with a little less yogurt and see how it goes. Today has been good, just one incident first thing in the morning. :-)Thanks!kt> >> > Hi Joanna, I realize according the the pecanbread "stages" I've jumped> > way ahead, but before I started the SCD, I ate all this raw food along> > with grains, beans, etc. and didn't ever have this kind of D. Guest guest
Sorry, I hit enter instead of Tab. Let's try again. Can you get die off symptoms from too much SCD yogurt? Had a smoothie with more yogurt than usual and was totally exhausted the next day. SCD since 7/14/10 for IBS

SOme people start with as little as a quarter teaspoon. <wry grin> I started with a cup a day..... — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

Kale chips are awfully good, btw -- get kale (or other thick-leafed green, like collards) and trim out the thick stem, chop into slightly larger than bite-size bits. Drizzle a little olive oil on, and rub to coat the leaves. Lay out on parchment (I place the parchment on a " holey " pizza pan) and sprinkle with a little salt. Bake in a 350F oven for 14-18 minutes, or until dry and crisp. Warning: the first time I made these, I ate the whole blasted bunch of kale! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

Kale http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kale Collards http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collards You'll find them in the lettuce department. I tend to eat the first batch of kale chips, and then can manage to box the rest. There are a gazillion recipes for kale chips on the web; you just need to make sure the ingredients are legal. THe one I sketched out is the most basic, and therefore the one I use the most often. I'm thinking of trying it with a little grapeseed oil to see if I can get a bit of a buttery taste. It's that butter and salt effect, you know! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

Kale is another green, like spinach is. Collards, mustard and turnip greens are other examples of greens. I get kale at any grocery store, yes. It's dark green and the one I've been getting this year is called " Tuscan Kale " . There are other kales. This Tuscan one is very dark green and the leaves are sort of bumpy and curly. I like kale the best for kale chips as it crisps up nicely. I've tried other things but they seem to flatten themselves on the pan and have to be scraped off! Guest guest
Kale is a leafy green and most stores carry it. I buy organic and it's always in the organic sections. Very nutritious, but some find it a bit bitter, so I like to add a little shredded cheese on top of my steamed kale. I'll have to try the kale chips - they sound yummy!kt>> > BUUUTTT>.
