Guest guest
, I have started having problems with my left eye. Poor vision, drooping, unable to focus it, etc. At first my vision was poor in both eyes and it started with a bad headache in mid-August. I went to my opthamologist who said my eyes were fine and adjusted my prescription for glasses. I went to the neurologist who ordered and MRI and put me on topamax. He also sent me to a Neuro-Opthamologist. The MRI came back--no sarcoid inflammation but a new lesion near the brain stem. One that was not there last year. His opinion stroke. Saw the neuro-opthamologist, his opnion after 30 min--stroke. He wants to see me again in 6 weeks. But I am torn. Is the stroke from sarcoidosis? Has anyone else experience this? They both said a baby aspirin a day. But I want to know more. Becky
Guest guest
Becky, are these docs thinking a TIA (transient ischemic attack or mini-stroke)? They seem pretty laid back about it. I'd want to know more also--what are the possible causes, besides sarc? Would you benefit from any kind of therapy to strengthen your eye? Besides the baby aspirin, it's probably a good idea to keep some regular aspirin in your purse in case you have symptoms of another stroke. Check with one of your docs first, but many recommend that if you have stroke symptoms, take an aspirin immediately & go to the hospital. Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine.
