Rach,

The tons of weight as you know is related to the vomiting/diarrhea. Get some probiotics from the Health Food Store-- I used liquid acidophyllus for years-- it works really fast-- where capsules have to be able to be broken down in the gut-- and if your gut is not holding anything in--- then you won't get the flora in the intestines long enough to help as much.

Yoghurt is not the answer!!!

Most of us eat yoghurt that has fruit at the bottom, or those wonderful flavors-- Key Lime Pie, etc-- which are packed full of sugars. Sugar kills the probiotics in yoghurt-- and sugar increases the bad flora in the intestines.

The "diet" yoghurts have the artificial sweetners-- which help make the good stuff in yoghurt useless. It is so toxic, and you don't need any more toxins in your gut. If you can't handle the liquid acidophyllus whcih will be in the refrigerator== not on a shelf!!-- (I got one that was strawberry honey flavor and would take a couple of tablespoons with each meal) and that really settles down the gut.

If you are doing alot of juices or coffee, or caffeine sodas or teas-- STOP! Water, decaf herbal teas-- mint, chamomile, and cinnamon-- heck, make some suntea up and drink it--that will help calm your stomach.

Fruit right now is probably not that good an idea as it will send your blood sugar thru the roof--- but brown rice, sweet potatoes or yams, carrot juice (fresh)** with ginger will help. It will detox your liver-- but that is ok. The brown WILD rice and yams are great as they are carbs that take time to digest, and don't spike sugar.

Montel has some great recipes for whole food juices-- both on QVC online (go to the recipe section) and you'll find yourself feeling better than you have in a very long time.

Cut the dairy out-- it causes diarrhea and the lactose makes you hurt. Wheat is also pro-inflamatory. AS is gluten-- which is in not only wheat, but barley, oats, rye and more.

You do need to see your doc, as you need to find out if you are developing antibodies against the Remicade. This test should have been down within 2 hrs after your first infusion-- and repeated at the 2wk, 4wk out interval. Liver Function tests and a CBC should also be done MONTHLY with Remicade. That way, if you do show signs of liver toxicity or lymphatic issues-- it can be stopped at the first sign-- and if any issues came up, then they can be treated immediately.

They also should have put you on Folic Acid--- as ALL these meds blow out our B's--- and we can end up with serious anemias...

These are some simple changes that will help!

Take care,

Tracie

You are absolutely right, it is a 'cop-out'. Is that what they get taught at Medical school?? When in doubt prescribe anti-depressant. It puts me off returning to my doctor for help at the same time though, I'm starting to lose heaps of weight. That can't be a good thing.> >> > Well, I went to see my PCP today after already being seen by my neurosurgeon, OB-GYN, ENT, pulmonologist and urologist this past month. My PCP's determination is that I may be suffering from depression (because of family, health and/or financial problems) and prescribed

antidepressants. He also referred me to a neurologist (my former one, Dr. Yannakakis, retired) and is ordering an MRI of the brain to look for any brain sarc. Apparently, these were ordered because of my memory deficits and confusion. Of course, he asked if I have been depressed lately by a family member or if I had been feeling like I didn't want to live because of my health problems; and I told him I didn't feel depressed about my illness because I belonged to a support group and found that they are having similar problems. He did a mini-mental test in which I passed ... except for subtraction in my head. > > > > What next? I have explained all of my problems with all the docs and even kept a record of pains and what sort of pains in what areas of the body I have been experiencing. I expressed to them that the pain is not "all the time" but comes on at any given time. I must say, I'm getting frustrated with them telling me that

what I feel is not happening!!> > > > Just thought I'd let you guys know about my visit today!! Thank God you guys know what I'm going through -- otherwise, I WOULD think I'm coo-coo. Have a blessed evening and stay well.> > > > Always,> > L. -Maye (Baltimore)> >>

Ginger tea is also good for nausea & vomiting (at least in pregnant ladies, so I assume it might help you too). You can buy fresh ginger root at the grocery, slice it into chunks & boil it. Drink it cold or hot; some drink it as is, but you may need a tad of honey. Now this sounds gross, but you can also carry around a hunk of ginger & gnaw on it as needed. It really works. Of course, this only helps the symptoms & you still need to get at the root (unintended pun there) of the problem. Good luck!

You can also try DGL take it twice a day in between meals. This will coat your stomach and help with the nausea and possibly the vomiting. I have a supplement in my office called SF734 it contains the DGL plus several other things including Bismuth which will dilute the HCL in your stomach but leave enough for you to digest the foods you need. If you want to try it write me or call me and I'll send it to you at my cost after I ask you some questions to make sure your a candidate
