Day 14: Chewing and blending ...

Although I am still not chewing very much, I am finding that I can eat

just about anything if I take my handblender to it or cut it up in

small enough pieces. Tonight I had potstickers whacked with the

handblender. Earlier today I had a hamburger patty cut into tiny

pieces. It took a while, but ....

Do you think it's normal that I'm not chewing much yet two weeks after

lower advancement? My doc said I could chew things the consistency of

scrambled eggs, but I'm not sure how long he intended that to last. I

remember him saying the goal was to have me back on a regular diet at

six weeks. Maybe after the splint comes off I'll be able to chew

better. Right now it just feels awkward and wears my jaw out.

One more week in the splint! (Hopefully.)
