Guest guest
Hi and Fay, I'm glad you two are feeling a little better now. I wanted to be here a little earlier with the bulldozers but between the kids and PT, I haven't been on the computer much. It's another sleepness night for me but at least I get a little peace and quiet in the house at this hour. Fay, elastics and braces can do wonders. Probably part of the reason you feel like your overbite is coming back is that you've had that bite for so long that now your muscles are trying to pull your jaw back into that bite. The elastics can retrain your muscles. I'm glad your OD appt went well. , I would have been frustrated too after that appt. Was your OD suggesting that you need another surgery? I certainly hope not. How do you feel your teeth come together? Do you think the crossbite is bad enough to impair your ability to chew? I know we all want a perfect bite but sometimes we need to settle for less than perfect as long as its functional. My surgeon has warned me that after all my joint issues, I'll probably never have a perfect bite and he wouldn't want to do anymore surgeries on me. We're going for functional. Six surgeries is enough! As for me, I'm not doing much better. By the end of the day, my left side is really painful. Tonight I tried adding a muscle relaxant to see if that would help. I thought it might be the muscles because my jaw is pulling over to the left. My lower midline is now off by 3-4 mm and was dead on last week. Between the muscle relaxant and the pain meds, I slept for four hours but as soon as they wore off, the pain woke me back up. I don't want to take more because then I'll sleep all day. My right side feels fine and the swelling is almost gone so now I look like a lopsided chipmunk. Talk about a mess! I'm going back to bed now. Between the Motrin and the ice, the pain is subsiding. My parents are taking the girls all day today so I can get some rest. I'm sure that will help a lot. Have a great weekend! minirascal > > > > Hi everyone. > > > > > > > > Well, it's officially Friday, which means I am now 4 weeks post- > > op. > > > > Everything is great.
