Guest guest
Hi , I am trying not to react right now until I hear from the OS. My biggest concern right now is my upper lip swelling that is just not going down. It almost looks like the lip is split or has been sliced by the upper hook or maybe during surgery, but it could be that it just appears that way because of the swelling. It was like that at my last appt. with my OS and he didn't say anything about it, but I probably should of mentioned it to him at that time. There was a stitch that was poking out right under the upper lip for about 2 weeks after surgery then finally fell out. I thought it was a piece of food or something but ended up being a stitch. I was kind of wondering why would there be stitches right under the upper lip? The incision is in the gum area. I guess this is something I will surely have to address to the OS. I sure hope that I don't have the split lip to deal with now. I wonder if the lip was accidentally cut during surgery. If this is the case, it surely would explain the swelling that is not going down. I am so sorry you had another tough night . I noticed you said you are still using ice. Does that help? I have switched over to applying heat to the area which really seems to help. My OS suggested that I do this starting 48 hours after surgery. He said this will help with the healing. I have used my last Percocet the other night and I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Motrin/Tylenol will help with the remaining pain that I am having. I really am trying to come off the Percocet, but it surely seems to help relieve the pain versus the Motrin and Tylenol. I also have the day to myself. My kids are still in Lousiana and my husband is off to the airstrip that he manages. He flies an ultralight airplane and the airstrip that he manages is about 45 minutes away. He normally ends up staying the night because he has a camper there and likes to hang out with his buddies. So I am going to get some much needed rest. I felt so bad for him yesterday evening because he wanted to take me out and I was just so so tired. He just doesn't seem to understand that this surgery takes some time to get your strength back. I need to head out sometime today and get some new clothes for work next week. All my old clothes are way to big right now. Anyway, get some rest today and I will talk at ya later, --Caboose > > > > > Hi everyone. > > > > > > > > > > Well, it's officially Friday, which means I am now 4 weeks > post- > > > op. > > > > > Everything is great.
