Guest guest
Boy, I am a little hyper this morning, but this started before i made the coffee. I went to six week check-up yesterday. Doc wasn't there, but they only took my weight and asked me a few questions. They gave me my paperwork to clear me for work. I took my paperwork to the Employee Health office, which they moved again. I felt like I was on a scan=venger hunt looking for it. They made me copies, and sent a copy to the Disability Office, which has also moved. I was to take my third copy to my manager, and wondered if I was going to find my department moved also. ( HAA HAA ) It was lunch time so everyone had time to harrass me. Apparently, the day I go back - Monday - every other person goes on vacation. I work in rehab, and a few of the other therapists are waiting in line for their needed surgeries. I won't have to worry about job stability for the next few months; I might be the only one left! Anyway, (before I started rambling out of control...) it seems like the next several visits to the surgeon's office will entail taking my weight and asking me how I am doing. I get to take time off from work, and drive about an hour away for a 5 minute visit. I am not EXACTLY complaining, but for all the trouble, I would at least expect to get naked or something. They do not have my last weight before surgery. I forgot to ask them what weight they had me at, but I weighed 283 at my last weigh- in at home. They have me losing only 19 lbs, and I have me losing 34 lbs. 283-249=34. I think they weighed me last in march, and it wasn't until June that I had surgery, and frankly, was enjoying myself: BBQ ribs, Steak Churrasco, Szechuan Pork. I also indulged in Stone Cold Ice Cream twice, but my cravings were for the meat I wouldn't be able to have for 6+ months. Wait, there is more. Afetr the appointment, my sister and I went looking for a restaurant that had something I might be able to get down. There was a Friday's around, but I wasn't able to get down the cheese on the French Onion soup i had eaten a few weeks ago, but was worried about it still. We found a new restaurant called Cutting Carbs Cafe. It claimed to cater to Atkins and South Beach dieters. They had pizza with (soy?) crust, and 10 carbs. I ordered a Carbo- dilla (quesadilla) with cheese and chicken. The cheese alone was supposed to have 7 carbs and 19 protein. (HOW??) I added chicken to further increase the protein, but then couldn't eat it. It tasted okay. It tasted like a chicken pot pie. I scraped the cheese off the tortilla, which tasted good, but the chicken stuck no matter how much I chewed. I drink a few mini sips of Splenda sweetened lemonade. ( They have SF tea, and fruit punch and lemonade made with Splenda, Diet Coke and 7-up with Nutrasweet, and Diet Rite - Splenda.) The lemonade was strange, and extremely yellow. They use liquid Splenda, which I didn't know existed. They gave my sister a sample of their LF Cream of Cauliflower soup, which she liked, and took home more to the hubby. They also gave us a large sampling each of their soft serve ice cream. It wasn't good. The foods are okay, but I'd rather just go to Boston Market and get chicken and creamed spinach (YUM!!) The only really good thing about the restaurant was that it was cheap. I wouldn't mind going back in a few months, when I could actually EAT, and try that quesadilla again. Well, I think I will go landscape the yard or something now....Janet
