Guest guest
Hi everyone, I was really feeling pretty miserable when I posted that other message today. I still feel rather miserable, BUT the good news is that I found out what the matter truly is, and can now at least DO something about it. After posting my message, I had such a headache that I decided to lay down and take a nap. My head hurt so bad, that sleep just wasn't going to happen. I thought to myself that it's just crazy to keep waiting to get better every day, when in fact, it felt like I was getting worse! So....I called my doctor - my family doctor this time, not my OS, and luck was with me when I called because the receptionist said if I could get there right away I could see my doctor today because they just had a cancellation the call before me. I jumped at the chance, and left home right away. When the doctor saw me, and I told him how I've been feeling, he looked in my ears, nose and throat (as much of my throat as he could see with me being wired anyway) and said " It's no surprise that you're feeling this miserable, because you not only have a sinus infection, but a very bad double ear infection with a lot of fluid build up as well. " I nearly cried when he said that because I was so relieved to have an explanation for why I've been feeling SO rotten. He gave me a really strong antibiotic to take, it's called Avelox. I have never heard of Avelox before; but then it's been a while since I've been sick enough to need antibiotics like this so I really don't care what it is as long as I start to feel better. I already took my dose for today, and am feeling more positive now that I can look forward to feeling better soon. I'm glad I didn't wait a few days to see an ear, nose and throat specialist as the nurse at my OS office suggested. I just decided that I waited long enough already. Anyway - that's my update and it's definately a better one than the one I posted earlier. Thank you for letting me vent! If I hadn't, I may not have worked myself up enought to make the phone call to my family doctor today. Judy - 4 weeks post op; and a happy camper now that I know what was causing so much extra pain :-)
