Hey is there any one out there who can tell me what I should expect from my

treatment. I have been prescribed methotrexate 10mg, once a week for six month

with predisone 20mg daily, and ridlan if I am spelling it correctly.

I would like to know what side effect I should expect, and any health problems

that could arise and how to spot them.

Hi,

Have no real concerns. Just make sure that you follow the instructions

and, in particular, have the required blood tests. I am on 30mg of

Methotrexate each week and have been for some weeks. It can take some

weeks to click in. The dose has to be set right also. 10mg didn't work at

all for me. You should ask about folic acid, as MTX does that in. Folic

acid must not be taken the same day as the MTX. I am also taking Omeprazol

to deal with any potential stomach issues and 15mg of pred, weaning down

very slowly from 20mg to zero over the next weeks.

Result - I feel better now than I have in years.

God bless,
