Guest guest
, My son Ellis is currently in his 2nd DOCband. He started his 1st band at just shy of 5mo at 17mm cranial asymmetry and wore it for 8 weeks. He's been in his 2nd band now for about 11 weeks (he's now 9mo) and has seen improvement from 12mm to 6mm. So we've definitely seen significant results from a 2nd band. I'm trying to make the same decision about a 3rd band, so i totally relate. Best, Ophelia ( 3.4 and Ellis 9mo with 4weeks or so left in DOCband #2) NYC > > My son Holden, 6 months old, has been in a band for almost two months and will be getting out of it in about two weeks. I'm trying to decide whether to get a second band. Any advice? The cranio asymetry is 9, down from 11 when we started. The technician says the ideal/goal is asymetry of 2 or less . . . has anyone experienced such significant results from a second band? Thanks. > > >
Guest guest
My son is done with his band in about 2 weeks. I'm assuming from the ages you gave that your son got his band at about 4 months. From what I understand at that age they usually outgrow them in 7 to 10 weeks because of the rate or growth. (the youger they are the faster they grow). But my son got his band on at about 6 1/2 months. We have seen great results. He has had quite a few very large growth spurts. I dont have the exact numbers in front of me but from looking at him and the mold they have of him from the start he had made amazing progress. I can no longer see the ears or eyes misaligned anymore. I will find out more in two weeks when has his exit measurements done. Its not just getting a second band that would help him...its his age. he is still very young and you could proabably get great results from second band. considering most babies are getting the first one at the time your son is finishing his first. I hope this helps. Good luck with whatever you decide! > > My son Holden, 6 months old, has been in a band for almost two months and will be getting out of it in about two weeks. Guest guest
Thanks for the feedback. I was originally leaning towards not proceeding with a second band. However, it looks like others have experienced good success. And I think you're right about his age . . . since he's still young, I believe he's got a good chance for continued improvement. Congratulations on the upcoming " graduation " from the band. > > > > My son Holden, 6 months old, has been in a band for almost two months and will be getting out of it in about two weeks. Guest guest
My daughter got her band at 6 1/2 months and she is now 10 months. She has about 5 weeks left in her 1st band. We will probably need a second band and are trying to decide on whether or not to get it. She has made significant improvements but still has a some flatness on the back left side of her head. This week when we go in for the growth adjustments they are going to take photos & measurements so we can compare from when she first started. They told me a Cranial Tech that the bands usually last 4 months no longer than that. That is due to the adjustment growths and normal wear and tear of putting the band on & off the baby. I want to get the second band as I think it will help out a lot. My fiance is torn about it. > > > > My son Holden, 6 months old, has been in a band for almost two months and will be getting out of it in about two weeks.
