Guest guest
I have a few thoughts and questions for the group: I've read it's hard to do controlled studies on diets, and that there wouldn't be anybody to fund these studies since drug companies wouldn't stand to make money from SCD. Why do people think there haven't been more studies on diet and IBD? Also, I was thinking we would have a lot of volunteers if there was some study, for example of gut bacteria make-up in SCDers and their non-SCD friends/relatives. Do people think it would be worth finding a doctor (perhaps Khoruts?) who would be interested in analyzing our poop? I'm assuming most of you would be happy to pay to ship samples to a researcher somewhere. There are still the costs of lab analysis and the time of the researchers, which I haven't really addressed, but still, our effort might make such a study cheaper. Just a thought.
