Guest guest
I tried to chew a french fry the other day and it surely hurt like heck, so I know what you mean by hurting when you chew. It is already so strange for me getting use to not having an open bite anymore. It's weird because I actually miss my old bite and smile. I am sure it will take some time because it surely is a big adjustment to get use to. Hopefully your infection will go away after Wednesday and your fever will break. I have been monitoring mine and have finally gotten in down to as close to normal as I can. It is staying right about 99.4, so as long as it doesn't go up any I will be happy. Of course I just ended my second round of antibiotics, so we will see what happens. My OS said that if it gets up to 100 or higher again to give him a call. Anyway, I hope you try to enjoy some of your weekend. I am getting ready to take a nap because I have been doing a little cleaning today. I keep wanting to head out and do a few errands, but don't think I am up to it right now! Maybe later this afternoon when it cools off. I'll talk at ya later, --Caboose > , > > I too longed for the day that I was allowed to chew again, but now that I am allowed to chew again for the time being I don't want to. It's not that I don't want to but it's still very sore and painfull. So I think I will stick to the soft stuff for now. My MF surgeon did say that he moved the jaw a lot so it will take some times to adjust to eating. > > You certainly do need a lot of patience with the surgery, but it is always hard to. Prior to my surgery I was told that I would have to take at least 6 weeks off work starting from when I was discharged from the hospital. But due to the complications 12 weeks later i'm still off work and have been signed off for a further 4 weeks and will probably be signed off more after that. They won't sign me back to work until the swelling/ infection etc have gone and that they are happy. I work in a children's day nursery caring for children 0-7 years so it's not worth taking the risk. > > I also have a fever which can get very high at times which is worrying but it will all be over soon! I am still very weak following the surgery we're struggling to keep my iron levels up. They have been very low since the surgery. I needed several units of blood during/after the surgery, I lost a lot of blood during/ after surgery. > > > > > > --------------------------------- > Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page > >
