Haven't been on here for a couple of years so i hardly recognise any

of the names anymore! I was due to start the whole orthognathics

thing back in early 2003 which was due to begin with some extractions

under general anesthetic. Clever me then fell pregnant so everything

had to go on hold for what seemed like an eternity as they wouldn't

anesthetise me whilst pregnant or for several months post natal. I

finally got my extractions done January of this year and two weeks

ago got full braces on my lower teeth and a quad helix fitted for

the upper. And now that everything has finally gotten started i am

begining to wonder just what the hell i am doing!! I thought it hurt

after the extractions as i had a mouth full of stitches and excessive

swelling due to un-errupted teeth being removed from the roof of my

mouth and inside my gum aswell as my wisdom teeth. Then when i got my

braces it hurt even more, even 2 weeks on i can't yet bite without

pain and find i would just rather not eat then have soup again! (very

effective dietry aids braces aren't they!) What am i going to be like

after the actual surgery!? I'm a wuss i admit it!

I'm due to have both upper and lower jaw surgery and a little

genioplasty thrown in for good measure, it's not going to happen for

at least 12 months but i will probably have worried myself to death

by then anyway!

Anyone want to give me a little re-assurance and tell me that it's

not as bad as i think it will be, you can lie if you have to!
