When God closes a door, He opens a window.

Last night, I picked up my “adopted” child from the airport. Her mother is

my best friend, and moved to Michigan last year. joined the Navy,

and just got her first base assignment. It is “home”, where she grew up. She

called me last weekend to tell me, and asked if she could come stay with me

until she has to report in 10 days. How could I tell her no? While we were

driving home, she asked if she could get off base housing, if she could live

with me. Again, how could I tell her no? We called Fred, and he was

thrilled. He’s been so worried about me being here alone for the next year.

I know I’d be fine, but having company that I don’t have to treat like

company is a huge benefit. My biggest problem, with Fred gone, is eating

properly. I tend to not eat at all. Jess just lost 60 lbs in training (she

was a “big” girl, but gorgeous now), so I know we can stay on a healthy

diet, for both of us. And she does dishes. LOL Life is good, in spite of

adversity. I miss my best half, but I am not alone. God opened a window when

I needed it.
