Finally, finally I have my computer up and running. What a

nightmare! I've missed reading all of your posts and look forward to

catching up with everyone.

I started dropping a little bit again. Not much progress this year.

I remember last Christmas when I proposed we go on a 2 week pre-

holiday health spree that I weighed in at 238. Now I'm 219. I'll be

three years out on Oct. 16, and having lost 152 pounds, that puts me

at about one pound per week average.

Actually, I like that. I've had three major 6-8 month plateaus and

I'm convinced that these breaks helped my body to find a new set

point. In the past when I lost weight at a faster rate, once I lost

about 70 pounds, I would constantly be extremely uncomfortable. It

was like nails screeching down a chalkboard trying to maintain.

However, this time I feel completely comfortable and natural with

what I eat, how much I exercise and how my body feels. And if I eat

a little more one day, I don't balloon up, but stay steady.

One of the most curious things to me (and I am totally in awe of and

in love with the workings of human body now) is that during the time

I lost weight, my size didn't go down. When my body " rested " , the

size went down pretty rapidly. It's almost as if it needed to take

time off to rearrange itself. Awesome!

I started at a 28, who knows if it was bigger because I couldn't find

anything larger so I wore stretchy things. I am now a 16, even at

219 (I'm 5'10 " ). I'm a pretty happy camper.

I see a PS for a consult Nov. 3 and would like to lose 10 pounds, but

don't want to think of it much because it will end up being counter

productive. I never want to go to that place of food obsession

again!!!

So that's where I'm at. I'll " see " you tomorrow.

Smiles,

Vicki A.
