How do you fight cravings/addiction/overindulge ?

This idea of a nut-addict group made me smile. If I ever put my hand in the nut

jar (my craziness right now is about brazil nut), I get uncontrolable and can

eat so much of them it hurts. This week-end, I couldn't stop eating cherries and

now i'm suffering...

Maybe we could share our tricks to avoid cravings or to have a better control on

portions and avoid excess ?

I'll start :

- Between meals, I found that drinking tea is really helping with hunger. Green

tea is working the best, but I also take mint or ginger when my guts are upset

- I hide sweet stuff (like honey) behind other non-attractive things in my

cupboard, like the bottles of oil. So my eyes don't see it when I open the

cupboard

- Never ever eat yogourt, or apple sauce or cheese directly in the container or

out of the package.

- Freeze goodies as soon as they cooled down in induvidual portions

Sometimes it's not always working though. I'm still doing the " I'll take two

almonds and put the jar away " and 10 minutes later I'm still munching on them

with zero self-control :)

Damn.
