Guest guest
I had my surgical hooks put on today in preparation for surgery a week from tomorrow. There are four on the top and four on the bottom. They are tiny and the hooks point toward the roots of the teeth. They felt like razor blades on my inner lips at first. However, someone here mentioned a while back that we shouldn't be shy about asking to have the hooks bent for comfort, and I am so glad. I asked the tech who put them on for me, and she said she couldn't. But when the ortho came back over, I told him they hurt and he bent them. Now they're really not that bad. I'm sure I'll be used to them in a few days, just like all the other metal in my mouth. If anyone wants pictures, I could try to take some. They're pretty small, though, and might be hard to see. Today's my last day at the office until July 18. Wow, it's really happening! Luna
