Guest guest
I have neuropathic foot pain too, but it tends to be more of a whole sole ache, they feel almost bruised to the bone. The pain can be quite severe at times, and often gets worse at night when I'm in bed. Ice packs are the only thing that helps ease the pain, I've had no luck with Neurontin or Lyrica (but they can help with this sort of thing, if you're lucky). I have a number of different manifestations of my P.N. One of them is sudden shooting pain in my foot. It can bring me to tears. I haven't noticed any triggers-it just occurs & I have to take it. Thankfully it hasn't lasted more than 3-5 min so far. > new one > > Ok Almost nothing surprises me about this disease anymore. The shooting pains through my liver after standing for 2-3 hours. Guest guest
It's interesting, , how the ice helps your pain, while my pain is much worse if my feet aren't really warm. That's why I wear 3 pair of sox, plus wrap my feet in a couple of fleece throws, plus use warmed rice sox! Before the neuropathy started, but after the body thermostat went out of whack, I can remember standing barefoot in the snow, even taking the trash out barefoot in snow, because I was so hot. Now I'm still hot, but really can't stand getting my feet cold. So I have all the warming stuff at one end, with fans & cold packs at the other! Things can sure get bizarre, can't they? Guest guest
Sorry Mitch I am always behind in my emails. I get stabbing pains all the time, tonight I am having them in my R. Knee, it hurts to walk, it comes and goes, I fee like cold water running down my back, and it's painful I hate the cold water feeling, does anyone else get this. I think I already said this in an email, but can't remember, I use this aspirin cream, and helps with the water pain, as I call it. the stabbing pain is deeper, heat sometimes help, but not all the time. MarlaJust one day at a time, That's all God ask of us. for there never really is a tomorrow, as that too is just today:) Ok Almost nothing surprises me about this disease anymore. Guest guest
Marla, I've not had the water sensation--that's really weird--but I used to get these buzzing/vibrating feelings. Sometimes it was in my right upper back, later in my thigh. It felt like a pager that was set on vibrate, under my skin! Really strange; not painful, just strange. I had those for a couple of years, maybe more, then they just disappeared. I assume it was some kind of nerve thing. Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
Ya Rose, I'm sure the water is a nerve thing too, my doc agrees, so I just rub it and it goes away, but only for a short time, then it comes back. It's funny you talk about vibrating feeling, lately, I have had this feeling like I'm shaking inside myself, like I'm having a seizure, but it's inside, I can't think right, or talk right, then it just goes away. However, I have woke up from what I thought was a dream that I was in an earth quake. Growing up in Calif. I know what they feel like, I also get that feeling when I'm awake, I will look at someone and say, Can you feel that? of course my family's reaction, is (esp my husband) would you just relax. Boy I wish they could feel what I feel all of it in one day:) OK sorry I guess I'm venitng today, Thanks to all who listen, and this may make you feel better, or feel yikes:) MarlaJust one day at a time, That's all God ask of us. for there never really is a tomorrow, as that too is just today:) Marla, I've not had the water sensation--that's really weird--but I used to get these buzzing/vibrating feelings. Guest guest
Mitch, I have problems with my left foot shooting lighting bolts that start from my arch & shooting up my leg. I had a few months of this were I could not walk. My left foot is numb most of the time except for the electrical shocks. The Prednisone & Gabapentin eventually helped were I can now walk. I get those shooting pains everywhere in my body as well especially in my legs & arms. Ok Almost nothing surprises me about this disease anymore. The shooting pains through my liver after standing for 2-3 hours. The waking up one day feeling ok and then having a upper respiratory disease the next, the side effects from the Prednisone.
