Guest guest
, That's great news, I hope you continue to quickly recover, I was able to come off the Pred with the Methotrexate, I hope you can too. will keep you in my prayers. Marla Just one day at a time, That's all God ask of us. for there never really is a tomorrow, as that too is just today:) So I saw my immunologist yesterday. He showed me my MRI - my goodness, there's so much improvement, it's amazing! The white cloudy bits in my optic tract are pretty much all gone, and there's no sign of sarcoid elsewhere in my brain. I still have a little vision loss in the central part of my eyesight, which is annoying but doesn't stop me doing much. Anyway, I started on Methotrexate last night, 15 mg once a week. I gather it can take a few weeks for the medication (and the side effects) to get to their full effect. Then I'll be allowed to start tapering down my pred, thank goodness. With any luck my sarcoid symptoms (vision loss) won't recur, but we'll have to see how low a dose of pred I need, and whether or not I can completely stop it or not. I'm still due to have nerve conduction studies (slow reactions in my legs), and a gallium scan to see if there are any pockets of sarcoid elsewhere in my body which haven't been noticed yet.
