Marla, one of things I enjoy about my tub is that for however long I'm in it, nothing hurts! (If I had a headache, it would probably still hurt, unless it was a muscle tension headache). But my back, my legs, my feet, my elbow (tendinitis), my hands, my thumb & knees(arthritis); nothing hurts! I know most of the aches & pains will return when I get out, but for 20-30 minutes, I have no pain. Just that short respite period helps me tolerate it all the rest of the day. And even when one or more of the kids are in there with me, it frees me. I don't get to zone out, floating on foam noodles & looking up at the sky, but there's a different kind of relaxation. I'm sending a photo from the summer, when we had a "girls hot tub party" with some of the neighbor kids. Gwyn, my great niece, is the one doing the cannonball!

Before I got this tub, I looked at Softubs, which are portable tubs. They are less expensive & much smaller than mine. I rented one to practice waterbirths in (with a doll), and it was really nice. It had jets & 2 adults could sit in it comfortablly. We set it up in my living room since I was just renting it. I would have considered getting one if the docs & hospital staff hadn't come through with a nice money tree for my retirement. I know people with those big jetted tubs in the bathroom, but you have to drain & clean the tub every time you use it. That would be a pain in the neck for me, plus using up all that water & electricity. I have to add a little water to mine occasionally, especially after the kids have been splashing around in it, and 2-3 times a year I drain & clean it. It really doesn't use much electricity to keep it heated, even in zero weather, because it's so well-insulated. Once the weather warms up I turn the thermostat down to 88-90 degrees, because I can't tolerate that 100+ temp when it's warm outside! My face does get hot from the steam, even when the outside temp is near zero. I always take a cup of ice water out with me (unless there's some nice clean snow!) & I'll rub an ice cube over my face. I'll even stand up so that I can feel the cold air on my face.

Well, I'm rambling again. Enjoy the photo of Gwyn--I just love kids & their exuberance.

Rose, Now I know why I love you, you have fun no matter how you feel, I love the pictures, we've talked about getting a hot tub, I have a big tub in my bathroom, I love it when I get in, but as soon as the water turns cold, I'm in pain again, I guess that's where a hot tub is good, it doesn't turn cold, hmmm something to continue to think about! Thanks for sharing. I always forget to take pictures. MarlaJust one day at a time, That's all God ask of us. for there never really is a tomorrow, as that too is just today:)

[Attachment(s) from Rose included below] Some of you know that I have a hot tub; got it 7 years ago when I retired. It's wonderful for my back pain & neuropathic pain in my feet, but it's also a great stress reliever. My grandkids (and the neighborhood kids) love it, but my favorite time to get in is late at night, especially when my feet are killing me. I take my meds, get my bed all ready, pj's laid out, teeth brushed, etc. Then when I get out of the tub, I dress as fast as I can & hop into bed! That helps my feet enough to get to sleep most of the time. Last night I was still awake at 2am, between my legs aching real bad & my feet. When I saw that it was snowing, I had to get in! I love snow, really love snow, and there is something so relaxing about zoning out in the hot tub with snowflakes drifting down. I decided to take my camera out with me, a risky move considering this camera replaced the one I dropped in a lake last sumer. But I put it in a baggy & out we went (LB, my sidekick, loves the snow too). Here are some photos to make you ooh & aah. I wore an old, stretched-out swimsuit because I can get it on & off faster than my good one, and the jets puffed it full of air. I took the picture looking down; is that weird or what?!? I love the one of the water; no flash, just used the pool light & light from the house windows. The first photo is of Dude & I after I got in bed, a rare moment of cuddling from my chunky orange tabby. Well, I hope y'all enjoyed my little photography exhibition, and as always, I've posted the pics in Rose's World album on the NS website. They are the last ones in the album.

Man don't you just love Son's, I get more done by my son, but then again he is my slave, as he's in school, full time, but no job, so if he wants $$  he has to work for it. My other son is a life saver too, I decided to go back to netflex for $9/mo, rather then watching on demand now at $5 a movie, anyway now with computers and all this fancy tv stuff, I got the DVD and realized I no longer had a DVD player as my son said I didn't need one.  (ok I got another cup of coffee, can you tell I finally feel better:)  I had to call him up, and he just directed me how to download a program, I always have to say slow down, he knows it so well he just starts telling you like he does it fast.  OK to the point, we watched the movie on the TV from my laptop, and all the watch now shows I do the same hook up my laptop to the TV and watch, download my favorite shows and do the same, just finished Ghost Whisperers, and now doing old House series, love them.

Gotta love those Sons, daughters too, but sons do the hard work.  MarlaJust one day at a time, That's all God ask of us. for there never really is a tomorrow, as that too

Yeah, Brad's no help with Sparky the computer, but he's so strong he does a lot

stuff for me. He's also going to get a book from E-Bay for me; he's good at that

too.
