, A high ANA would make me think of Rheumatoid Arthritis, either way you kind of treat the same, and the only way to dx Sarcoid is with a biopsy, to find out for sure.    I'm sorry to hear she is having so much at such a young age.  I will keep her in my prayers.

MarlaJust one day at a time, That's all God ask of us. for there never really is a tomorrow, as that too is just today:)

I asked my immunologist this very question a few days ago! He said that it could have genetic factors - my daughter has had a mystery autoimmune problem for over 6 years, and has seen a million specialists. She has problems with all over pain, severe fatigue, neuropathic pain in her feet and hands, migraines, endometriosis, moth ulcers, food allergies, high ANA, type 1 diabetes, and a host of other problems. She had pancreatitis a few years ago, something which is very unusual in someone her age (she was 16 at the time), and they couldn't determine the cause.

Anyway - to cut a long and frustrating story short - my immunologist will be seeing her again in March to review her symptoms in light of my neurosarcoid diagnosis ... so he clearly thinks that there might be some element of sarcoid going on with her, or that it's worth considering.

Cheers,

Yes it is hard to see someone so young in pain, I have a great Niece who has Juvenile RA, got it at the age of 3, now 7 and her Mother is going through treatment for Breast Ca now too. it breaks my heart, but my Niece and Gr Niece are strong and getting through it.

Thanks Marla - yeah, she's been investigated for RA, and Lupus, and Sjögren's, and fibromyalgia (which I also have), and anything else every immunologist and rheumatologist we've seen can think of, all to no avail so far. At least her (and my) immunologist is interested in having another look at her now. She has a rough time, hard to see in someone so young (she's 19 now).

Cheers,
