Beth:

I am writing this message to defend soybeans and all food products in the grocery store that are made from Soy. I owned a small farm and we grew corn and soybeans on it for thirty years. Then we sold the farm.

I may be slightly out of touch with today's soybean culture. I think nearly all the soybeans raised now have had a gene change that lets these plants tolerate Round-Up--a weed killer . If you are a gardener you probably know Round-Up. It is used on Soybean ground at or very near planting time. I do not see how there would be any residue from Round-Up at the time soybeans are harvested. None of the soybeans farmers I know of are using an insecticide on soybean plants. There may be some very very rare cases. Soybeans produce their own nitrogen from a nodules on their roots. Many farmers grow soybeans without fertilizing them as soybeans use fertilizer from the prior year's crop in most cases corn. Soybeans are held within a protective pod at harvest time and they go from wet and green seeds to mature seeds ready to harvest within a matter of

hours.

I can see no need for organic soybeans or organic wheat for that matter. I think it might be easy to prove that much of organic farming is done to simply support a higher price. It may be helpful for some food products: however, not for soybeans or wheat. Food products made from these grains are about as safe as any food product can be. Many non-organic food products are safer than the organic version of the same food.

Have no fear of grocery products produced from soybeans unless something failed due to the manufacturing of the product. Burns

Good morning everyone.

There was a message posted to the board from a member named Colleen McCloud. It was filled with links to questionable websites and was clearly spam. Oddly enough my Yahoo account delivered the message directly into my Spam folder.

In any case I would advise everyone to delete this message from your email and DO NOT click on any of the links contained in the message.

I've deleted this message from the board itself and as of 2 minutes ago this person is no longer a member of Breathe Support.

I think what happened here was this person's email account has been hijacked. She had been a member for over 9 months and this is the first time anything like this had ever happened.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if anyone has any questions about any of this. Thanks everyone!

In the past couple of days we have received 2 spam messages from Helen 's

address, which apparently slipped by the mods. I'm sure Helen didn't send them

& probably doesn't realize they were sent. I think her email has been hi-jacked,

as has happened to several of us. So far as I know, it's just been an annoyance,

but I'm sure these hackers will go further at some point. If you see one of

these messages, or any similar messages from anyone, just delete it. DO NOT

CLICK ON THE LINK. If you think the link might be legitimate, contact the

sender. I received one of these links from a friend--correct name &

address--thought it was odd that he didn't write a message, but clicked on the

link & got a pharmacy in Canada selling Viagra, etc. Before I knew it was spam,

that link had been sent to most of my contacts, including some doctors! Many of

my contacts blocked the post as spam, but not all. It's a big hassle to clean

this out of your computer, so just be very careful with any links.

Thanks for the heads up. It took me several weeks to clean the last spam I got sent out and yes it came from what appeared to be a know contact. I had to finally send my own e-mail address to spam & contacted yahoo to let them know that this was occurring. Matt, did you get a response from Yahoo? I'm not sure what you mean about sending your own email address to spam.

Spammers can sometimes use YOUR email address as the return email in their spam,

so it looks as if it's come from you ... there's not much you can do about it,

and reporting it won't achieve anything either, sadly. I think it happens to

most of us from time to time.

I never did get a response from yahoo. As for sending my own e-mail acct to spam. I sent the message that seemed to come from myself, which was clearly from a hacker to spam. Matt
