Marla,

when you were on neurontin did it give you a lot of headaches??? I know it is for nerve pain and that is what my neurologist prescribed it for me for, because I am having nerve pain from my incision from my brain biopsy and the numbness on my scalp is being bothersome. I can't lay on that side of my head lately so she thought that the neurontin would help. But for the last two days I have been in bed with such a headache and the Oxycodone just takes the edge off still leaving me unable to do things because of the head pain still lingering.

thanks

Hi , Welcome, I'm sorry you had to find us, but there is a lot of information from many wonderful, caring, people here that have been through many things. I use to have the tingling and pins and needles feeling, esp my left side, now I just have a numb feeling, every once in awhile if I forget I'm sitting on my left leg, it will tingle, with needles for a few minutes, then it goes back to being numb. I am numb from the top of my head, left side all the way down to my toes, it's a strange feeling, but better then the tingling, pins and needles feeling, can't say I remember if one med took it away, or it just progressed to that point, I think it was not helped at the time with any meds. I've taken several different meds for the nerve pain, which is not the needles and pins, it's more intense burning like pain, and that was helped first with neurontin, then Lyrica, and now on Cymbalta, not on all, just the Cymbalta

right now. feel more numbness with it, but less pain, I'll take numbness over pain any day. Hope this was helpful, but probably not, hope someone else has better info for you. feel free to ask any questions. Were here to help. After suffering for some time with so many different symptoms my husband finally got diagnosed with neurosarcoidocis last year. With the many different symptoms he is having the worst one for him is the tingling like pins and needles from the waist down to his toes .None of his medication is helping at this time and i was just wondering (hoping actually) if anyone has had any improvement with this symptom. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.thank you

, I get a Headache every single day, so I don't remember if I had more or worse Headaches then or not, I just remember too much made me a zombie.  Every thing I've taken for Nerve pain, nothing has totally gotten  rid of my headaches.  You should  probably call your doctor and let him know about your headaches if there new.

Marla,

I did call my doctor to let her know and the nurse said she is on vacation - of course - this week. I just saw her on Friday the 22nd and things were okay. I was just having discomfort from the incision and the numbness in my scalp from the surgery which is really bothersome. I left a message with my neurologists nurse and she is going to let doc know after she gets in the office on Monday. Otherwise the nurse said to keep taking the meds prescribed until she gets back. Something just doesn't seem right. Maybe I should stop the new medicine, until she gets back - or does it take time for your body to adjust to the new medicine after you start taking it?? She said after a week, if it is not working to up the dose. She didn't say anything about if it makes me feel this way. My husband wants me to stop taking the new medicine, because the pain is so bad (and I am sure he

feels just helpless seeing me like that) and the flare ups of pain are at the worst during the night - that is when I take the new medicine - just before bed. He thinks it is the new medicine causing the pain.

I have noticed a difference in the discomfort of my incision though since taking the new medicine. I can lay on my right side now, whereas before it was very uncomfortable and it would wake me up at night and I would find my self on my right side.

It has been raining everyday here do you think the low pressures have anything to do with headaches?

does any of this make sense??thanks

,I was just at the neurologist yesterday for these terrible headaches I have been having. He actually upped the neurtontin I was already taking. I guess he prescribes it for migraines all of the time. Just FYI.To: Neurosarcoidosis Sent:

, First, any medication can do anything, we all react to meds differently. I get headaches daily, some days worse, and yes worse with pressure change, I don't really see the Neurontin helping with the incisions pain, as it works more with nerve pain, then numb feeling at an incisions site would be normal too.   it's just to hard to say just what is making the pain worse, did you notice right away, when you first started taking it?

it is a medication that needs to build up in your system to work better, I wouldn't just stop it, isn't there another doctor covering for your doctor while out of town?  because I would talk to a doctor before just stopping your medication.  pressure change could be the problem, hopefully it will turn nice and you'll feel better.  I wish I had an answer for you.

stay in touch and let me know how your doing. Marla " Fear less, hope more; Eat less, chew more; Whine less, breathe more; Talk less, say more; Love more, and all good things will be yours. " - Irish Proverb
