Sheryl,

I used Udo's Oil Blend (which includes flax seed oil) for years to boost Tim's

calories. He had been using the Ensure Plus, and the corn oil seemed to give

him a fatty liver, which this oil seemed to get rid of...

The docs in the hospital one time were about to chide me for using 'health

food' on Tim, when one spoke up and said that he used it to lubricate his

joints for running - works for that, too. And seems to digest better than

other oils.

hi, my son p.t. told us to get it , because it is supposed to help with

attention span, hyperactivity in children etc. I also use omega 3 , fresh water

fish oil to promote brain food.

As I researched the safety of using this I found that it is also

used to help with GI issues, i.e constipation. So, finding that it

is safe to use and that you need to grind the seeds for proper

results, I started putting it in Dalia's food (only 2 baby spoonfuls

a day). I really wanted to find an alternative to Mirilax (why?,

BM every day, although they are much firmer that with the Mirilax,

but don't seem to be rock hard if you know what I mean - more like

Play-Doh (sorry for the reference) ...so, I am going to continue to

tweak the amount and see if it is consistent...of course, if this

proves to be a short lived good result I will start Mirilax again.

What do you guys think?

Will you keep us posted? Also, anyone else using the flax seeds -

how much would you use for a 9 year old and how would you administer

it? My problem with a lot of the homeopathic options are that the

dosing is so iffy. Anyone with experience, let us know! Jenn

Hi

We have used Flax seed oil(cold pressed) since Cameron my 7 year old

was quite young. We had an excellent paed who uses homeopathy where

possible. Cam had quite bad excema, which cleared up (and is no

more) it is a very good source of Omega 3s and 6s. I still give it

to Cam, he will have it off a teaspoon, once a day, when I remember.

It can be used on salads and mixed into things but not heated or

cooked with. Im sure you could get info about it from your local

health food store. It also has to be in a dark bottle and kept in

fridge and not exposed to light.

I often give it to Liam in his milk, when he is constipated or i

just feel he needs extra calories.
