Guest guest
Last year we bought a winter hat that was larger than her size and just fit it over the helmet. It worked fine. This year it fits her without the helmet. , mom to , 28 months STARBand grad May 2009 Chiro and CSt land Hoods and hats for cold/wet weather How can I keep my girl's head dry and warm in cold and wet weather? We always use beanies and hoods but that may be a challenge with the helmet.- Zoey 8 months gets STARband in 3 days
Guest guest
For Christmas we received a snowsuit labeled " zeroXposur " with a hood that fits over Clara's helmet. (Try Overstock.com, Kohl's, Sears.) A hood is the way to go, IMHO, an easy alternative that looks a bit odd is a stretchy knit hat. (I got one with matching toddler-size mittens at Dollar General.) Perhaps your locale is more " wet " than " cold. " I don't know if it's a rule, but we had a reversible fleece/vinyl that took us through November, and that hood did not accommodate the helmet. Maybe the snowsuit people leave more room for thick knit hats. But before snowfall, I felt the helmet itself was warm enough, and babies don't spend much time out in the rain. -- Thad Launderville Montpelier, VT Clara age 21 months, in Starband 4 1/2 months On Jan 1, 2010, at 7:02 PM, Dizzyrey wrote: > How can I keep my girl's head dry and warm in cold and wet weather? > We always use beanies and hoods but that may be a challenge with > the helmet. > > - > Zoey 8 months gets STARband in 3 days
Guest guest
Adult hats are big enough to cover my son's helmet (but they look awfully weird). You may be somewhere way colder than us, but we have found that his helmet keeps his head plenty warm for most situations--we did a Christmas Light walkthrough where it was about 40 degrees for 2 hours--and he wore mittens and a coat, but his helmet was his hat. I think I draped a blanket over his head to cover the holes when he was in the stroller. One warning--don't do hooded shirts during naps--at least for our helmet, they can get tangled around the neck up under the edge of the helmet. I went in after one nap time and he was fine, but the hood was all jammed up around his neck--very scary. We're saving hooded shirts for post-helmet.
