Guest guest
Ok, first off, I'm 9 months post-op and six weeks pregnant! woohoo! Secondly, I was wondering if having a big ole hernia is a bad thing when you're pregnant. It seems like once I'm pretty far along it will be putting a lot of pressure on it and pushing it out. I have a big ole incisional hernia around my belly button area (as many of us do) and was wondering if this could/should be repaired soon. Guest guest
I had the same question for my doctor when I went in for my 6 month check up. (Not because I was pregnant or had a hernia but because I was afraid that I had both which as it turns out I dont.)Barbara at Dr. Rabkin's office said that there can be complications with a hernia and pregnancy and it needs to be monitored. I am so excited for you. I know it is earlier post op than they recommend but it can be done. Barbara said that someone else that was only 3 months post op got pregnant and had a healthy baby. She drank 2 ensure a day and was fine. Talk to your surgeon and go to an OB/GYN right away. Take good care of your self and get ready for your life to change in every way. Good luck and I will be watching your progress. I am counting down the year to when I can get pregnant again myself. Machelle

Guest guest
Hey Sherry! My sister-in-law had to have surgery at 7 mos. I would definitely talk to a surgeon about this. It will be painful and if it gets strangulated, then you would have to have emergency surgery.
