Guest guest
I was wondering if any of you have had any experience using flax seeds or flax seed oil in your child's diet. Dalia's ST who sees her for feeding recommending adding it to her diet, mainly for thickening foods and for adding the Omega 3's. As I researched the safety of using this I found that it is also used to help with GI issues, i.e constipation. So, finding that it is safe to use and that you need to grind the seeds for proper results, I started putting it in Dalia's food (only 2 baby spoonfuls a day). I really wanted to find an alternative to Mirilax (why?, well I feel like the fewer prescription drugs the better, if at all possible)... anyway, so far I find it to be working pretty well...she has had a BM every day, although they are much firmer that with the Mirilax, but don't seem to be rock hard if you know what I mean - more like Play-Doh (sorry for the reference) ...so, I am going to continue to tweak the amount and see if it is consistent...of course, if this proves to be a short lived good result I will start Mirilax again. What do you guys think? Sheryl (mom to Dalia, RSS, 20 mos, 18.5 lbs, 29.25 in, Prilosec, Periactin, Mirilax (sometimes)) - baby due TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
