Hello Everyone!

I know I haven't posted on here as much as I would've liked to, but I've learned

so much from reading everyones experiences and opinions, thanks so much for all

the great info! Now here's another one for y'all to weigh in on...

My son had sever plagio (19 mm) and started his Starband when he was 8.5 mos.

After about 5 months of wearing it, he was down to 7 mm. Then everything

stopped; over the next 3 months there was absolutely no change. He was gaining

weight, hitting all his milestones, etc but there wasn't much happening in the

head department. In the middle of Dec we decided we were done with the helmet

(he was outgrowing it and there was potential for some negative effects) though

there is still lots of correction left. The orthotist left the decision up to us

and said there is an unexplainable possibility the head will self-correct

without a helmet.

Besides the 7mm of plagio left, his head is very flat in the back as well (that

part never seemed to correct in all the time in the helmet?). So my question

is...has this happened to anyone else? Did you notice marked improvement without

a helmet?

Thanks again for everyones help!

Sincerely,

Farah

It is sort of happened to us. We saw a lot of and fast improvemnt initially and went from 17 mm down to 8 mm, but coming down from 8 mm took us to 0-4 mm took us more than 6 month.
