Guest guest
Hi All, My little Avery is the cover-girl right now on the Group website. After one appeal from my pediatrician and the second appeal from me - 150 page document, WE FINALLY WON!!! I received an email from HR Director today that said they would be sending approval for our appeal to United Healthcare tomorrow. I am so overjoyed. My appeal packet was a mixture of ones on this site and had 29 articles (that was the hard part). I hope everyone has the same blessing that I have tonight! It will be even better once the money is back in our savings account. The helmet has definitely made a noticeable difference in her forehead and back head. We are so thankful we didn't wait and got her in the helmet at almost five months old. Thank you to everyone's encouragement! erin
Guest guest
Hi . Congrats on winning the appeal! Do you mind telling us the grounds on which UHC initially denied your claim? We also have UHC and have been denied, but it's due to an exclusion for cranial banding that is actually written into our policy. Seems pretty black and white to me, so I don't know if it's really worth trying to appeal. I'd love to hear of someone winning an appeal with UHC who was originally denied based on an exclusion, but I have yet to. Your mention of your HR director makes me curious as to how they were involved. Any info you can share could be helpful! Thanks!
