Guest guest
Have you seen the bumbo seats? they could probably be set on a regular chair and look like they would work great. They have them at most Target stores. Marcia High chair help?? I posted this the other day, but I don't see the post anywhere... So here goes again: is 7+ months old and still doesn't sit by himself, so I'm trying to determine whether those clip-on high chairs actually work... whether they work with kids who can't fully sit unassisted, and whether they work with kids who have to wear the brace. Has anyone used these chairs with success while wearing the s? While their little one couldn't sit by themselves? Does anyone have one they'd be willing to sell for cheaper than they cost new? We love to go out for dinner once a week with the kids, but I gotta be honest and admit that I'm tired of fighting with while trying to eat my dinner before it gets cold! If anyone has any input, I would really appreciate it--those chairs are pretty expensive, especially since is a hearty boy--20+ lbs and over 27 " long. I don't want to spend $40 or more and find out that the chairs don't work with the brace or that they are too snug on his fat little legs!! Thanks in advance! Guest guest
We have one, but likes to throw himself backwards and just about flips it over/falls out... They also say specifically on the box not to use them on elevated surfaces because the baby could fall out... Thanks for the suggestion, though!! Guest guest
Stacee, We have a high chair that hooks onto the chair and I was thinking that it said on the box to use with a child that can sit byself? I looked for the instructions, but couldn't find it. Sorry. The back on ours is not very high, so I would think he could lean backwards. As far as with the bar ours works good. Karter is 21 months, 27lbs, and 35 inches.and we still use it often. You could always check the box to see if you can use with a child that doesn't sit on own. Hope this was of some help. Guest guest
Thanks, Tabitha! Do you happen to know which brand chair you have so I can try to research it online? Guest guest
Stacee, Here is one similar to ours. It folds up and easily fits into the car to take to grandmas or out to eat. http://www.safety1st.com/product.asp?productID=87 Tabitha Stacee Schwander wrote: Thanks, Tabitha! Guest guest
Hi Stacee, I looked at those clip-on chairs as well when my boys were little but I found out that they didn't fit all tables, and wouldn't have fitted our table at home and probably most pub tables here neither, so that might be worth checking out before buying (assuming you mean the kind I mean, where the high chair clips on to the table...). Before the boys could sit up we simply left them in their infant carriers or pram when we went out. At home we used the infant carries which had a setting that would almost sit them up fully. Hope this helps, with (3.5y) and Alister (3.5y, right CF, Ponseti method, UK) --- littleman1013 wrote: > I posted this the other day, but I don't see the > post anywhere... Guest guest
We got a chair that clips onto a regular chair for Aleksander. He's been using it since well before he could sit on his own. It has the option to tilt it back, so it is ideal. We got it at Target. Here's a link to the chair at Target: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_2/602-7836646-8566250?% 5Fencoding=UTF8 & frombrowse=1 & asin=B000056HKJ It is a bit bulkier than some of the other booster/high chairs that are supposed to be " portable " , but it is very light and easy enough to carry. We brought it with us when Aleksander was in the shoes full time, and we use it exclusively at home. We love it! Guest guest
Stacee, If the only time you have trouble with high chairs is in restaurants, try rolling up a blanket or two and use it to " stuff " around him for more support. Stuff it around like a " Boppy " pillow. This worked for my daughters until they were good sitters. I used blankets in the wooden restaurant high chairs and in shopping carts when my kids were too big for infant carriers, but too small to sit unsupported. Don't spend money on a high chair you have to lug around and you only need it for such a brief period anyway. Good Luck! Guest guest
After advice here, we found that one of those booster seats that strap on to the restaurant chairs worked in casts when we left the tray off and put one of those baby placemats at the table. I expect they will work with her brace now too although I have not tried ( I can't imagine why not). I stayed away from the clipons because i thought it seemed tight with the casts. I don't know about the sitting unassisted part though--Lily sits on her own. They have these type boosters at Walmart and Target--maybe you could just try it out in the store. I know what you mean about getting out--I about gave up eating out too with my wiggly worm on my lap, with her hand in my ice tea, pulling the silverware off the table. Hope this helps. > > I'm sorry Stacee I don't know about the chairs. > > s. > > High chair help?? > > > I posted this the other day, but I don't see the post anywhere...
