Guest guest
Hi everyone (and Judie..lol)- my endoscopy is tomorrow and I was just wondering...is my throat going to hurt me after? Hurt to talk? Swallow? Or, once I wake up will I be groggy but feel fine otherwise? Take care, (trying to figure out why I am sooo nervous about this stupid procedure..eek!) Guest guest
, Its an annoying procedure that is done before you can be annoyed...I blinked and asked them to hurry up because I was tired and they were like you are done bye.......Actually I think it took me longer to write this message than the total time for the endoscopy at all....And the best part is the happy juice they give you...You float like a butterfly....Then I went and ate a nice big breakfast and everything was fine in the world! Guest guest
!! Dont be so nervous! I know its easier said than done but take it from others who had endoscopy done....Im sure they will tell you truthfully, it doesnt hurt! You should feel just fine when its over. If you did have a tiny sore throat you will be fine. Ive never had one so I cant say how you will feel when you wake up but Mike said he felt ok, no pain no nothing! So, you go in there like a good trooper and before you know it you will be thinking " Now why was I so nervous about THIS?? " Hugs, and know I will be there in spirit holding your hand tomorrow! Guest guest
Dear , I used Dr. Sherman in NYC for my endoscopy. I was in by 10 a.m. out by Noon and afterwards, hubby and I walked 2 blocks and ate Thai for lunch. No soreness, no awareness, no gagging. An IV was inserted and the next thing I knew I was in the recovery suite asking when I was going to have my procedure done. I think soreness, etc... has something to do with the doctor's skill and how sedated you are. Dr. Sherman told me that his patients never have a problem with soreness afterwards and he knocks you totally out. Also, I think when a doctor gives plenty of drugs, you are out and not fighting the procedure. My cousin had endoscopy last week and his experience was horrible as the doc only gave him light sedation and he was gagging and fighting the whole time. Speak up and tell the doc that you prefer to be totally out. I was told that I shouldn't drive the rest of the day even though I was not groggy afterwards and felt fine. Good luck. > Hi everyone (and Judie..lol)- my endoscopy is tomorrow and I was > just wondering...is my throat going to hurt me after? Hurt to talk? > Swallow? Guest guest
, I understand your fear even though everyone has told me its nothing. Because of the complications from my surgery, Dr. J said that he may have to do an endoscopy and dilate the area where the duodenal anastimoses is in order to make it larger. I am a wreck. Please share everything when you get back. Oh, and although I woke up without any tubes in me post op, my throat was sore that afternoon. The nurses gave me some Cepacol losenges and I swear they worked! I would think some Chloraseptic spray, a numbing spray would be handy if there is any risk of a sore throat afterwards. Hugs and I will be keeping you in my thoughts! Theresa DS 11-19-01 Dr. Jossart -13#s (I have ankles and one hip bone! Guest guest
, When I had my endoscopy and colonoscopy (talk about playing both ends against the middle LOL!), I was bright and chipper by the time I was released and was able to have a lovely lunch with my sister immediately afterward. No sore throat or other discomfort. Marcia Question about Endoscopy Hi everyone (and Judie..lol)- my endoscopy is tomorrow and I was just wondering...is my throat going to hurt me after?
