Tracey, at 5'3 " that is entirely possible. See the Met Life Height

and Weight Table for more information on " ideal " body weights.

http://www.metlife.com/Lifeadvice/Tools/Heightnweight/

BTW, you should take all of these numbers with a grain of salt. In

fact, use an entire salt block. Body weight doesn't correlate with

body size. I was (at one point in time) 160lbs at 5'2 " and was

wearing a size 10. I can't imagine getting any smaller than that,

but I suppose I will after surgery. If that's what I am a 160,

though, I'd be happy to be there again.

Thanks

I checked out that site and it states that I should be between 131-147lb's.

So If I take that away from my weight now (302-140=162lb...80% of

162lb=130lb) so realistically I could maybe get to 170lb (77kg's).

Would you think this was more realistic and attainable???????????

At 6-2 and with a large frame, my " ideal " weight by the charts would be

about 200 pounds. I weigh 240 now, and my son pointed out to me that I look

" bony " nowadays....now, i DO have a lot of hanging skin (though I have had

an abdominoplasty) and a bit of a pot gut that is mostly loose skin and

muscle (weird feeling) so I guess I could lose some more, but I lost a good

bit of muscle in the weight loss, too, which I am going to put back on. I

think that 225 would be more the ideal, and, frankly, if I never get below

where I am now, I'll be quite content, thank you very much.

Re: GOALS

Tracey,

I think you should not fixate on a number and go by how you feel and

how your clothes fit. Many docs don't give a " target weight " due to

the potential for feelings of failure. Yes you COULD be 131, but you

may not be and if you are fixated on that number and you end up being

150, you could end up being very disappointed.

My Met Life numbers say I could be 125! Sheesh! Unbelievable, but

true...I could be. But I KNOW that after my liquid diet I was a size

10 at 165 and I was VERY happy with that, so I don't care about the

125 number looming over my head. Muscle mass, fat distribution and

water retention will all have an effect on the Number, so don't fret

over it.

Good luck!
