Challenge the Diet

Hi,

I have been doing the gluten free diet with my son for about 9

months. We have only seen small gains in his development over this

time period. After a discussion with our dr. we decided to challenge

the diet by re-introducing gluten foods. We fed him a few gluten

items over a couple of days, but noted that he had a significant

change in his behaviour. He was easily frustrated, screaming and

hitting, both people and things something he doesn't usually do.

We decided to put him back on the diet right away, but have still

seen the frustration in him on occassion (a few times a week). He has

also started to push our dog around, something he would never do

before, infact, because of sensory issues, he hardly ever touched

her!!

Could we have caused a problem by reintroducing the gluten? Could he

perhaps have developed a sensitivity to another food, or is this just

plainly a developmental stage?? Has any one else experienced

anything similar?

Thanks for any input,

Janice

My son reacted for two weeks, on the worse case. I think it depends on how

much mine gets.
