Flame resistance in bedding

Could someone pls give me a reality check here? Isn't bedding made

flame resistant due to people who smoke in bed or burn candles on bedside

tables (neither of which we would do with our kids)? By the time any

other type of fire would get near our beds, we would have already died of

smoke inhalation, right? I just don't see us as being the targeted

audience for flame resistant bedding (correct me if I'm wrong pls).
