Guest guest
Tabitha, I have also been cursed with finding sandals that Kelsey can wear although for different reasons. I recently found a pair of Nike sandals that actually work for her and she is comfortable wearing them (although even these have left angry little red marks at the base of her big toe on her non clubfoot.). Anyway, the top part is neoprene and it stretches. There is actually no straps of buckles. Here is a place online where you can see a picture of what I am talking about. www.softmoc.com and the name of the sandal is the Nike Baby Sunray VII. Also, I am a big fan of www.pedoodles.com that is supposed to be releasing a line of sandals any day now for the summer. Their shoes are like the Robeez shoes, soft leather etc but they have a rubber sole on them for outdoors. Kelsey and I both love these shoes. Also, for a little bit more money, www.preschoolians.com offers some sandals in their line that are also soft leather and may have more give to accomodate Karter's feet. Hope this information helps you. I share your pain on this sandal issue. I do not know how many pairs we have given away because I bought them and kelsey just could not wear them. I know part of her problem is that her feet are just so sensitive to everything. I am always on a quest to find good, comfortable shoes for her that hopefully I don't have to forfeit her college education to pay for. Jenni Yarolim wrote:Does anyone have a problem finding sandals? Karter seems to have a high instep.(from bottom of foot to the top) We have tried payless, target, wal-mart, JcPenny's, stride rite, foot locker, and shoe stores in the mall. We can not get his foot in or can not get the straps shut across the top of his foot. The only way we can get them is if we get a size 6 and he really needs more like a 3 or maybe a 4. I am afraid if we get them that big he will trip over his shoes all the time. Tabitha --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates. Guest guest
My 8 year old bcf son was unable to wear sandles until he was about 5 or 6 years old because of that problem. Many other shoes pose the same problem - generally I have to buy a size too big to fit his instep but as he's gotten older it's gotten easier. s. sandals Does anyone have a problem finding sandals? Guest guest
My child is 4 and has never had a pair of sandals except a pair for the beach that had a fish that velcroed over the top of his foot. They were really nothing more that a beach shoe. I was always so frustrated and so was he when he was two he would cry if I just came toward him with a sandal in my hand! Guest guest
My son is 3 and he has a high instep or so they say everytime I have him measured. Heis now in a size 6. I have bought him several pairs of sandals (we are in the UK) I found the s Doodles were quite good - although not a sandal, but he has had other sandals - leather ones but I always make sure they have a buckle across the bridge of the foot. The last pair last year that he had were what I call proper boys sandals with velcro on both sides of the bridge of the foot and also velcro across the toe area aswell so I could adjust every where!!!!
