Guest guest
I just wanted to remind everyone that we have a physician reference database on this group's website. It would be great if people would take the time to put in a reference for their doctor(s). This is especially important for those doctors who don't have many active patients on this list! Obviously Ponseti, Dobbs and Herzenberg are easy to find personal references for! We can always modify the database headings or make new databases as well if the group has other suggestions on what's needed/desired! If you aren't comfortable including your personal contact information in the database for future families, another option is to refer to a past message(s) that you have posted on the list telling about your experiences with this doctor. (i.e. " msg #XXXX " )
Guest guest
Hi, . I just added a doctor but perhaps I can give a suggestion? The field for doctor could perhaps have a first name field and last name field? I find it difficult to find a doctor by name (sometimes Dr. is first if I try to sort the list, sometimes first name, sometimes last name). In addition, our doctor has offices in two cities (and states--it is a border town) and so if someone does a search for city, it will be difficult to find the information. Thanks for keeping the database. > > I just wanted to remind everyone that we have a physician reference > database on this group's website. Guest guest
Thanks for the feedback, ! And thanks for putting your entry in! I noticed that about the database some time ago (with the names), but haven't had the time to go update all the entries to split the first and last names. One trick I use is to use the " find " feature when looking for a particular name or region, it will search all the entries. > > > > I just wanted to remind everyone that we have a physician reference > > database on this group's website. Guest guest
there may not be enough fields left to do this. yahoo only allows something like 7 fields. Guest guest
I am not sure how the database works. Should I add my doctor even though he isn't on Ponseti's list? Although I worried about the correction initially, we sent photos to Dr. Ponseti and he said everything looked good. Thanks, Kaci (mom to , 12/17/05, bcf, DBB 23/7) > > > > > > > > I just wanted to remind everyone that we have a physician > >reference > > > > database on this group's website. Guest guest
Kaci, There are a number of doctors on the referral list who aren't on Dr. Ponseti's list....and this is one of the main reasons to keep the database because there are *good* docs who haven't gone through the process to get listed with the U of Iowa. If you have some particular comments or warnings that you'd tell a family if they asked you about going to that doctor, you can put it in the additional info section on the database. " Non-referrals " are also acceptable entries. I did modify the table so there's a new column (it's at the end because I couldn't add a new column at the beginning) asking for the doctor's last name. People can now sort the entries by the last name by clicking on the heading in that column. > > > > > > > > > > I just wanted to remind everyone that we have a physician > > >reference > > > > > database on this group's website.
